Despite rumours to the contrary, the RG4's demise appears to be premature.
'The Model Railway Index' spoke to Jonathan Rumsbold, Managing Director of Delta-Line Europe, the manufacturer's on Monday 10th October 2005 who confirmed that the RG4 unit IS in production, and stocks are being released, as they come available, to the model railway trade.
The basic problem is that following the acquisition of Portescap by Danaher Motion (www.danahermotion.com) last year, the new owners have had difficulty sourcing a new manufacturer of the gear box units.
This now having beein resolved, an initial batch of RG4C's (the RG4 1616), have been released to Holt Models in Swansea (www.holtmodelrailways.co.uk), and these are available, ex-stock, as per the Holt Model Railway website.
